I know it’s a bit early to be thinking about Halloween, but it is one of my favorite holidays. At least I am not quiet as bad as someone I know who starts decorating in August! Costumes are my favorite part of the holiday, so I start my planning early for what I want to dress up as. And to be honest, we even dress our sweet Maltese, Baby, in costumes for Halloween.
Look at this cute “watch dog” costume from InCostume.com! I think it’s cute and a clever play on words too. They also have a lot of great human costumes as well, something that I am considering is the “couples costumes“! I think it would be a hoot to go as Fred and Wilma Flinstone! It’s too bad they don’t have a Pebbles costume for our little dog, then we would be a complete Flinstone family for Halloween!

Baby won the Twitter funniest dog photo contest hosted by Paw Luxury recently. As her prize she got her choice of an eco-friendly dog toy. She picked the frog squeek toy, and as you can tell, we had a hard time getting her to hold still long enough to snap a photo. So, we snapped a video too!

Pearl Paradise has a wonderful program going on right now in celebration of their 10 years of selling pearls online. It’s called the Giving Back Program, and it is designed to help charities raise money for their cause. How are they giving back? They are donating 2,007 pieces of jewelry worth $1 million dollars to qualified 501(c)(3) charitable organizations, including animal rescues.
Each piece of jewelry they are donating has an average value of $500, and judging by what I saw looking on their site, their jewelry is very nice. I think that the Giving Back program is such a unique and fun idea, I hope that if you are part of an animal rescue organization you will apply and take advantage of their generosity.
The organizations that are eligible to receive free pearl jewelry are 501(c)(3) charities that have auction fund raising events coming up within 3 months. There is a great website called Peternity.com that offers really nice ways to honor your pets. Although the site offers a lot of great products to honor a pet that has passed away, they also have some fun things to honor your pet while they are still with you.
I was lucky enough to get a sample of two of their items, the glass engraved cube, and the customized pet blanket. The memorial cube is really pretty, and has an engraving of the dog and then the name of the dog and dates, which was done in a way to make it look 3 dimensional. The photo blanket is really cute, nice and heavy which makes it warm, and very soft. Since you can make it from any photo you want, it would be a perfect gift for any occasion (I think it would be a fun Valentine present for a pet lover).
Another fun item that I didn’t see a sample of is their custom pet art. I think that the idea of capturing your pets personality in a painting is such a cute idea.
If you are looking for pet memorials, or just some fun gifts for a pet lover, the Peternity website has a lot of great ideas and products. It’s really nice to know that there is a site out there that has so many great ways to honor your pet.
This is a cute little book that would be a perfect stocking stuffer for an animal lover. It features animals doing funny things, with each photo having a humorous explanation for what is happening in the photo. Some of the photos are just too funny to believe, with great moments caught at just the right time.
The only thing I wish were different? I wish that the photos were better resolution, but even with that flaw the book is a hoot.
Baby was able to try out a very cute shirt from GlamourDog.com. As you can see, it says “I heart my Mommy”. This is just one of many cute items that they carry on their website, and this particular shirt is one of their own creations. Baby loves it!
