Skoshbox; Japanese Snacks (for humans)

We have shared a few treat boxes with you before, but they have always been for pets! Well today I am happy to share the Japan Box from Skoshbox. Why? Because it’s just for humans!

Skoshbox Japan box

We have tried a few other snack boxes before and were always a bit let down. Skoshbox has been amazing though! We got a subscription to the Dekabox when we started to learn Japanese. It was a fun way to try new treats, but also to help us with our reading skills. So of course when Skoshbox wanted us to try out their newest and biggest box, The Japan Box, we were thrilled!

Why we love this subscription:

  • Full sized treats. These are not samples, but full sized snacks!
  • Comes quickly, usually on the very first day of the month.
  • You can re-order your favorites on their website, and you get discounts based on how long you have subscribed.
  • Treats are all from Japan, so you get to try things we just don’t have in the states.
  • Fun mystery items (non-food).
  • 100% legal food products, and they pay extra to label all of their products with a complete English translated ingredient list (very helpful).
  • Super interesting snacks. This month included pudding flavored puffs, and octopus flavored sticks. Never boring!

The Japan box is great. In fact, I think we are going to have to upgrade our subscription! It comes with the most treats, both food and non-food, of all the boxes. That means you get two more of each kind over the Dekabox (which has more than the smallest Skoshbox). I especially liked the cute little sushi character key chain this month.

If you want to try a plan, we have a special code for you! You can save $2 off with the code: AIMEEROO. To see all the plan options visit the Skoshbox website. You can also connect with them on their social media channels, Facebook, Twitter, Instgram, and Pinterest.

Skoshbox provided a Japan box to us in exchange for our honest review. As always, our opinions are our own.

Setting up an aquarium is as easy as 1-2-3 with API fishcare! #APIfish

API logoThis post is sponsored by MARS Fishcare and the BlogPaws Professional Pet Blogger Network. I am being compensated for helping spread the word about API Perfect Start but 4 the Love of Animals only shares information we feel is relevant to our readers. MARS Fishcare is not responsible for the content of this article.

I have always loved fish, and have long dreamed of the day when I would have a gigantic tank! You know, like the kind you see in Las Vegas. Well, this might not be a giant freshwater fish tank, but it’s a nice addition to our home. It’s so fun to have a fish again. Do you have fish? API is having a giveaway so be sure to enter for an API aquarium.

We picked out a smaller tank because we knew we wanted to get a betta. The API® 1.5 gallon starter kit was just what we needed.

The kit comes with a filter, a light, and several chemicals to help get your tank set up properly. I loved how easy it was to set up too. I really like how nicely the filter system is integrated into the tank. It really helps keep things quiet, and simple to maintain.

Like I mentioned, we picked a smaller kit, because we were getting a smaller fish, but they do have larger sizes too! Our kit came with API PERFECT START™ which is 3 envelopes that are clearly marked for each day of use. Day 1 for setting up the aquarium, Day 14 and Day 28 after the aquarium set up. I loved that the system made it simple to get set up quickly. No guess work here! And if you ever do have a question, API is very responsive on their Facebook Page .

API® Perfect Start™ is also recommended by the aquarium experts at PetSmart. They offer a wide range of products to help you care for your fish.

I do recommend picking up a bottle of dechlorinator when you buy your tank, as you will always need this on hand for water changes. API also has a very helpful website where you can research all of their products to make sure you have what you need for your freshwater fish tank. When you are ready to purchase, be sure to find your local store with the store locator. API is even on Instagram.

We took two trips to Petsmart because I prefer to set the tank up and have it running for 24 hours before adding fish. I was pretty excited when we went back and picked out our betta, as you can see, he has gorgeous colors!

He still needs a name actually, we have been hearing some fun suggestions but haven’t settled quiet yet. What do you think we should call him?

Update: We have a name! Our fish is named Sakana, which is Japanese for fish.

Clean your indoor air with the Airfree air purifier

We received an Airfree purifier in exchange for our review. As always, our opinions are our own. This post contains Amazon affiliate links.

Life with pets (and people) can get smelly. Odors in the air are often caused by contaminants in the air, and this is what the Airfree air purifier is designed to take care of. We were excited to get one for review.

The Airfree Onix 3000 Air Purifier works by killing the fungus, bacteria, viruses, and even dust mite poop (yes, poop) that is in the air. Your air is actually being purified with heat. This isn’t a traditional filter that simply catches dust, this is truly killing off the contaminants. This is great news if you have pets that have a lot of dander, and especially if you have people with allergies!

We noticed a slight warm smell during the first part of use. I think this happens with any new appliance, and it did go away. After that we noticed that the smell of the air changed slightly. The AirFree isn’t an air freshener, so it was hard to tell for sure what was happening, but our air has smelled different since we started using it.

The unit comes with a built in light which can be turned off an on. We keep ours on, the blue color makes a nice night light in the room. Each unit can be used in a room up to 650 sq ft, which is very nice in our home since it basically covers our first floor. The Airfree stays on 24 hours a day, and should be run continuously in the room. We like that it is compatible with heating and air conditioning too, since we do have that in our house. They are meant to be used in rooms, not hallways, for the best result (in a hallway it would just purify the hallway, not adjacent rooms).

Other things we like about it is that there’s no need to change dirty contaminated filters or clean dirty blades. Airfree´s exclusive TSS technology completely destroys and eliminates all organic contaminants. We also like that the Airfree emits no ozone. The Airfree generates no dangerous emissions, NO ions, and NO ozone. These things can be dangerous to people and pets, so it’s very important that they aren’t there.

Overall we have been pleased with the results and think our air smells better. It’s nice to know that our air is actually cleaner too.

Review: Muttropolis.com

Muttropolis is a great website full of products every pet parent would want for their dog or cat. Baby got to try out two fun soft toys and calming aromatherapy spritzer.

muttrop

As you can see, she fell in love with the strawberry toy (you would think the poor girl had never had a toy before in her life the way she went crazy for it). She has also loved her “Chewnel Pawfume”.

The aromatherapy spray was really nice. It works very well for detangling and it can be used on dry hair (perfect for getting out mattes) as well as after a bath. It smells very good, and it does seem to work for calming as well as just helping with tangles.

Muttropolis offers all kinds of products for your dog, clothing, beds, eco-friendly goods, fun Halloween costumes, and of course, harnesses and collars. They offer things for the kitties as well as the dogs, such as scratching posts, beds and toys. The other great thing about them is they encourage pet adoption through rescue, and hold adoptions at their offline shops.

We give Muttropolis 5 out of 5 paws up!
