Special gifts for the pet lover in your life, or for yourself!

Etched In My Heart

Etched In My Heart offers pet lovers a wide variety of personalized gifts. They were nice enough to send us personalized frames for our dog and bird. Not only are they unique, but the frames are high quality too. We were also impressed at how quickly they arrived, and the packaging.

Etched In My Heart

Another thing we love about Etched In My Heart is that they donate part of their proceeds to The PetSave Foundation, a non-profit organization founded by Bona Tucker in June 2000 as a rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption resource for domestic rabbits, cats and dogs. You can learn more (and see some adorable photos of the rescue at work) by clicking here.

Etched In My Heart was founded by Bob Tucker in 2007 based upon the need to provide pet lovers a custom gift or personalized frame that have beautiful designs specific to dogs, cats, rabbits, horses and birds. We loved that they included animals beyond just dogs and cats. As a bird owner we are always excited to find gifts that celebrate birds.

They offer a wide variety of pet lovers gifts and pet memorial gifts that you, many of which are one-of-a-kind designs that you will find nowhere else. Be sure to have a look around their website!

BarkBoxForMe

Baby is a very picky girl, so sometimes finding a treat that she will love is hard. Enter the BarkBox! Each month you can surprise your furry friend with new treats and toys from this awesome subscription box for dogs! Baby’s BarkBox arrived on her birthday, and somehow she knew right away that the package was for her!

We loved what came in our first BarkBox. The toy was a huge success, Baby was running around with it all day long, and she even tasted some of the treats (this friends, is saying a lot). Besides being filled with great items, we felt great about this dog box because the company donates 10% of proceeds on each box to animal welfare organizations!

BarkBoxDivingIn

Every month, Scout, the head dog at BarkBox, picks out four to six treats, toys and hygiene products to send to your dog. All their products are sourced in the United States, Canada, South America and New Zealand. They never send products that they don’t feel comfortable giving their own dogs. They don’t send rawhide or anything that’s been processed with formaldehyde. They are trying to get products with minimal processing and are moving towards limited and single ingredient treats. We love that!

BarkBox Box

We also love that BarkBox customizes the boxes to fit different sized dogs. We got the small dog box, and it was a great fit for our girl. What was in our box:

  • Pet Lifestyle And You (P.L.A.Y) We were thrilled to find an item from P.L.A.Y in our BarkBox! The P.L.A.Y zucchini toy was a big hit!
  • N-Bone Always nice when something can clean and freshen dog breath! The all-natural Pearly Whites chew bone is wheat-, corn- and soy-free.
  • Bocce’s Bakery Baby wasn’t sure what to make of the Truffle Mac & Cheese delights! The truffle was a very new flavor for her, and this was a new item that BarkBox introduced to us.
  • Happy Howie’s Happy Howie’s treats are all-natural, and convenient. Break them into tiny-sized training portions for a real treat.
  • Etta Says The 7-inch Crunchy Deer Chew is a natural way to keep your pup busy. Great for dogs with allergies.

BarkBox Sizes include:

  • Small & Cute (0-20 lbs)
  • Just Right (20-50 lbs)
  • Big & Bold (50+ lbs)

They also offer a range of plan lengths:

  • 1 month – $29
  • 3 months – $72 ($24 per month – save over 17%)
  • 6 months – $114 ($19 per month – save over 34%)

Be sure to connect with BarkBox on Facebook and Twitter for more fun deals throughout the year.

I have written this post on behalf of BlogPaws Pet Blogger Network for BarkBox. I am being compensated for helping spread the word about BarkBox, as always, we only share information we feel is relevant to our readers.

Our Pawliday Picks for 2013

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! And of course we wanted to help you in case you had any last minute shopping to do for the animal lover in your life. So, without further ado, here are our Pawliday Picks for 2013!

Pawliday Picks

1. Schmitty The Weather Dog! This adorable book combines a cute Yorkie with science. The illustrations are great, and the story is perfect for kids of all ages. Schmitty, the star of the book, is a real Yorkie who does the weather with Ron Trotta. Be sure to check out their YouTube channel to see them in action.

2. Santa Hamster. Yes, an hamster wearing a Santa hat! Could it be much cuter? Well actually no, but you can find this and other adorable animal themed goodies in the Bubble Dog Etsy shop. Oh, FYI, I bought myself this hamster pillow for a pre-Christmas gift and it is even more adorable in person.

3. Rescue Chocolate. For the chocolate lover in your life, Rescue Chocolate is the perfect gift! Not only is the chocolate delicious, it also helps animals in need. As the name suggests, they support animal rescues. They have quiet a variety of flavors that are sure to please anyone on your list.

4. The PawNosh Pet Bowl. Made of recycled glass, this bowl is more than just gorgeous. It’s heavy and will last a lifetime. Not only that, it is made in the USA. Yes it is a bit more expensive than your average pet bowl, but this is not your average pet bowl. Did you know that this bowl started as a Kickstarter project? That product was fully funded, and now you can order bowls via their website.

5. Holiday Toys from PetSmart. We got these two adorable toys from PetSmart (they provided them to us for our review) and Baby has loved them ever since they arrived. They are from the Martha Stewart line and are specifically made for dogs who love a little comfort. Snugly and soft, they are perfect for the anxious dog who wants a bit of security. They are also super cute! They have a wide variety of toys for dogs and cats (and even smaller animals can join the fun).

6. The Wrapping Dog Scarf. This is on my personal holiday wishlist. It’s cute. It’s functional. Oh, and did I mention that it comes from Shop For Shelters? Feel great about buying this gift because part of the money will help shelter pets in need. It is also made in the USA, which I love.

And may we suggest some fun titles from the Cartoon Network, so you can stay warm and cozy indoors with your pet! Our pup Baby loves to watch Cartoon Network (seriously, when it’s on she can’t stop looking at it), so we think these are a great fit for people and pets!

Cartoon Network Titles

Our picks: Adventure Time: The Complete First Season, Adventure Time: The Complete Second Season,
Regular Show: The Complete First and Second Season, Adventure Time: Jake the Dad, and of course, Robot Chicken: Season 6! Find these and other great Cartoon Network Shows titles on Amazon.

We hope our picks help make your “Pawlidays” bright! Enjoy!
