The Dogs of War: The Courage, Love, and Loyalty of Military Working Dogs is a wonderful book that shares what it is like for military dogs. We received a copy of this book for feature here, and I am so glad that we did. I know I will never think of military dogs the same way again!

From dogs that parachute at 30,000 feet, to those who detect bombs, each role is unique and important. We get to read about dogs such as Cairo who helped capture and kill Bin Laden, as well as stories about other well known military dogs. The book also gives readers a look into the intense training that takes place for both solider and dog, and of course, the bonds that form between the two. My favorite part was seeing the full color photos of soldiers and their dogs, you can see the bond between them.

It is truly a great book, and one that will have you amazed at the work that military dogs do. Thank you veterans, both human and canine!
