10,000 Tennis Balls to help shelter pets!

10,000 Tennis Balls to be Released to New York City
Shelter Animals for Adoption Awareness
The Holiday Season will come early for Manhattan & Brooklyn shelter dogs and cats

Who: Rock & Rawhide will team up with Animal Care & Control of NYC (AC&C) to give an early Christmas present to the dogs and cats in their Manhattan & Brooklyn facilities. Rock & Rawhide is a non-profit organization who aims to increase adoptions and quality of life for dogs and cats in shelters, by providing distraction therapy and noise/stress reduction through the donations of toys, tough chew items, Kongs, Nylabones, bones, rawhides, blankets and more.

What: On Friday, November 16th, just over 10,000 tennis balls will be released to the dogs and cats patiently waiting in the facilities to be adopted. A portion of the tennis balls will also be donated to other shelter facilities in the tri-state area. With overcrowding an ongoing problem for shelters, the event is designed to raise awareness of their adoption and care centers. After the devastation Hurricane Sandy has caused, the importance of adopting a pet is greater than ever as many once loved pets were left without a home and surrendered to shelters.

Rock & Rawhide had been a tremendous supporter of AC&C donating nearly $50,000 worth of pet supplies and food for the thousands of animals we rescue each year”, said Richard Gentles, spokesperson for AC&C. “They are a great partner and have made such a positive impact in the lives of so many animals. We are pleased to join them and accept tennis balls on behalf of the animals in our care”.

When: Friday, November 16th
11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Where: Animal Care & Control Manhattan location
326 East 110th Street
New York, NY 10029
