Blog the Change

Today is Blog the Change day, a special day where bloggers write about animal causes near and dear to them. So today I want to tell you about my personal favorite, Best Friends Animal Society.

Above is a photo of Flat Buster. Buster is the mascot for Strut Your Mutt, an amazing event where dog lovers come together to raise money for Best Friends. But what we love most about Best Friends is that they don’t just help dogs, they help birds, cats, horses, and more! Not only do they try to find these pets forever homes, but they provide loving care for those who aren’t adoptable. Could they have your next best friend? Click to find out more about how to adopt from Best Friends.

Most recently they had their special event honoring pets who have passed. The video below shows just how beautiful Best Friends really is! The blessing takes place in a special area of the sanctuary called Angel’s Rest.

To see more videos visit the Best Friends YouTube channel.

Best Friends Animal Society is guided by a simple philosophy: kindness to animals builds a better world for all of us. We believe this to be a true philosophy, which is one of the reasons we love to support Best Friends how ever we can.

Best Friends’ No More Homeless Pets campaign has done so much to help bring shelter and rescue pets into the forefront, but there is still so much to do. If you would like to learn more about Best Friends and how you can help support their work, please visit the Best Friends Animal Society website. We hope that you will fall in love with this wonderful organization the same way that we have.

Best Friends is such an amazing organization and I am so glad you highlighted them in your post. They have done tremendous work with pit bulls and it would be a dream to visit their facility. One day…

We would love to visit them too. Thank you for stopping by today, and I hope that you get a chance to see Best Friends in person soon!

Thanks for highlighting Best Friends. We chose them as our $1000 recipient the year that BTC4Animals won the Best Cause Blog Pettie Award. Why did we choose them? For all the reasons you list! They aren’t just helpful to any one type of animal. They help all animals all across the country! Amy had just come from visiting them in Utah and all of our volunteers were so happy to help. Best Friends does so much, and more help is always needed. I’d encourage anybody to get involved – even by sharing their initiatives via social media. It all helps.

Thanks so much for Blogging the Change!

That is wonderful Kim! I didn’t realize that you had donated your Pettie winnings to Best Friends, but I can’t think of a more worthy cause. :) Thank you for visiting today.

Being part of a rescue organization, I can’t love Best Friends enough myself! They are awesome, and all that they do is invaluable and irreplaceable — just ask all the adopted pets, right?
