We are so excited about this new mini-series from National Geographic! “Untamed Americas” is a high-definition miniseries event narrated by Academy Award-nominated actor Josh Brolin. The first of the series premiers June 10th, 2012. In it we get to see some of the amazing places in the wild areas of North America, Central America and South America. Each hour explores the diverse landscapes, focusing on Mountains, Deserts, Forests and Coasts.

Untamed Americas: Mountains
Premieres Sunday, June 10, 9 p.m. ET/PT
In a rarely filmed event, see newly awakened black bears go on the hunt for newborn elk calves. Then travel to the Rockies, for a ringside seat as male bighorn sheep go head-to-head in a bloody battle for breeding rights.

Race along with mustangs in the Great Basin desert as one outcast male fights toregain his place in the herd. Then go to the Atacama Desert where Humboldt penguins raise families in the driest place on earth.

Premieres Monday, June 11, 9 p.m. ET/PT
Witness male gentoo penguins perform mating jigs to attract females. Then plunge into the Sea of Cortez off the coast of Mexico, where hordes of voracious giant Humboldt squid cannibalize their kin.
