Be Kind to Animals Week inspires kindness project

We think this is a wonderful idea, and we hope that you will be inspired to participate.

Be Kind to Animals Week comes once each year during May 6 – 12.   The Center for Animal Protection and Education (CAPE) believes kindness towards all living beings should happen every day of the year.  In an effort to honor animals and our relationships with them, CAPE has launched the “Be Kind to Animals Project” inviting submissions of essays that are 10 words or less about kindness towards animals.

“All animals depend on the kindness of humans to prevent them from suffering.”  JP Novic, Executive Director, CAPE, “Be Kind to Animals Week is a time to highlight our relationships with other species and to delve into our commitments to providing a safe and compassionate world for them.  We are hoping children and adults will submit their essays and we can’t wait to read and share them all.”

CAPE’s Be Kind to Animals Project will include submitted essays that are 10 words or less in a special episode of the on-line TV show “Animal Eyes” which will be released during the week of May 6 – 12.  CAPE will also create an on-line bulletin board with the essays.  Along with the short essays, CAPE encourages people to submit photos of their animal companions or animals who have inspired their essays.  The deadline to submit essays and photos is Tuesday, May 1, 2012.

To enter CAPE’s Be Kind to Animals Project send your name and address to postmaster@capeanimals.org along with your essays that are 10 words or less and a photo of your animal companion(s).
