What do you do if you lose your pet? What about if you find a pet without a collar? Lost Pet Atlas has the answer. Created by two animal lovers who had the misfortune of losing their beloved cat “Gracie” last summer.
Over the course of trying to locate their cat by posting flyers on telephone poles and creating listings on various websites, they noticed there wasn’t a very good online resource for lost and found pets. So, they decided to fix it!
Why we love it:
- The site is 100% free, there are no charges whatsoever unlike other sites out there that have fees for uploading a photo or getting email alerts.
- Maps out lost and found pets in your immediate area, rather than forcing you to scan through hundreds of listings that could be hundreds of miles away and thus not relevant to your search.
- Instant email notifications for new listings in your area
- Users can comment on listings if they have found or have info on a lost pet.
Please help us spread the word about this great service, and let’s hope that we can all make sure lost pets are found again! You can even like them on Facebook!

This idea is brilliant! I’ve lost a few pets in my life and it’s the worst feeling when there’s really nothing you can do to try and find him/her. The site is completely non-profitable and is a free public service to people who are looking to find their pets. It’s a simple solution to a problem that many have had to come to terms with before. I like that it is also flexible–you don’t want to spend hours searching a national lost-dog database when you know your dog probably isn’t too far from home.
