Morton Safe-T-Pet

With the snow and ice outside, many people use salt to help melt it. Obviously this can be a problem for dogs and cat who often walk over that salt. Luckily, Morton Safe-T-Pet Ice Melt was developed with veterinarians to be safer for your furry friends.

Amazingly, it’s completely salt and chloride free – so it won’t irritate pets’ paws or stomachs. Morton Safe-T-Pet Ice Melt is also non-toxic, and it won’t irritate skin, so it’s better for people and plants, as well as paved surfaces.

Pet and people friendly: Veterinarian approved, chloride-free, non-toxic. Safer for environment: Better for plants and concrete than regular salt. Easy to see: Colored pellets provide clear visibility. Melts below 15º F.

To celebrate Morton Salt’s new Facebook Fan Page, Morton is having a “What’s Your Morton Salt Secret” contest where the winner will get a $1000 American Express gift card. To enter, just share a photo of your best nifty tip, trick or use of Morton Salt. There are four Runner-up winners and six Sweepstakes winners with prize packs too!

We are happy to see that they have thought about the safety and health of pets when making their Morton Safe-T-Pet products. We plan to get some to use on our own sidewalks this winter. Have any of you used it before? Are you going to enter the contest?

It’s really about time. We spent all last winter cleaning their paws from the salt from their walks. Now all I have to do is make my entire neighborhood use it :)
