Blind Dog Rescue Alliance

We recently got an email from a rescue group that specializes in blind dogs. I am very excited to help spread the word about them and the work they are doing! Every dog deserves a good home!

The Blind Dog Rescue Alliance is a small group of volunteers in the United States and portions of Canada dedicated to helping blind and visually impaired dogs. They help through rescuing dogs in shelters, assisting blind dog owners, and educating the public about these wonderful dogs. On their website you will find information about dogs who are looking for homes, as well as tips for living with a blind dog, and other helpful information on common eye problems in dogs.

They are always looking for volunteers, and since they are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit group, all donations are tax deductible! If you would like to learn more about them, please visit their website. You can even become a fan of theirs on their Blind Dog Alliance Facebook page!

I have been an Oregon resident all of my life, more recently moved to take a job, but the job ended and I decided to retire (67 years old, female). I love, and am familiar with four breeds, first being a Cocker Spaniel, A Boxer and a smallish poodle. I have Multiple Sclerosis, but have a ‘house boy’ who will be walking and taking care of his basic needs, me? I’m the cuddler. Here’s the hitch you might not be able to get over – I moved to Ghana, West Africa to retire. I live in a secure compound and have no other pets – a secure compound here means I have a large lot with a cement block wall all around it, very pet safe, with some grass to play on. It would take a lot of trust for you to let me send for one of your dogs, I understand, let me know if I can be of any help in deciding for you to know more about me. I would never EVER adopt a dog without first finding excellent Vet. care, I have found a wonderful professional clinic. I have had 12 Boxers in my life – adopting older ones cause I love old dogs! My Vet bills have always been sky high cause any little thing, and they are rushed to the vet! I believe in feeding the best, and when I cannot find good prepared food, I cook goat or chicken and rice – adding vegetables and vitamins. Let me know. Judy
