Heidi is my little terripoo dog and such a love to me. Heidi is now 14 yrs old and still romping around with only a little arthritis. I would love to have a portrait done of Heidi to always remember her.
My 3 year old Airedale, Pepper is such a joy to me, she is my baby. She is my shadow, she follows me around the house and even into the bathroom. If I shut the door, she puts her paw up under the door to let me know she is there. She is my constant companion and I love her dearly.
My 8 month old puppy Yuki is three quarters Siberian Husky and a quarter German Shepherd. She loves nothing more than to be with her doggy pals at the dog park, and she’s really loving this recent Midwestern blizzard!
Hershey and Nilla Are my two wonderful rescued Poms but I would like the portrait for my moms dog Bella. My Mom lives alone in a huge house in Ca and we’re here in NJ. Bella gives mom all the attention and love as if Bella were a child. They love eachother so very much and are perfect companions!
I volunteer at an animal shelter and I walk the dogs. I wound up taking a particular one home after he was there for 6 months and no one took him home. Everyone only saw how hyper he was…but it turns out that he is the best dog. He’s sweet, well behaved, and just loves being with the family. Thanks.
My pet is special because she loves me and lives to please me, which is more than I can say for my husband!
My pets (Bogie and Bacall) are both special! If I win the portrait, I would have Bogie as the subject. Bogie is 13 years old, which is quite old for a purebreed Himalayan. He was my husband’s cat before we got married. I would love to give his portrait to my husband, so he would always have Bogie, even after Bogie goes over the rainbow bridge. Images of Bogie are here: http://bnbproductions.terapad.com/index.cfm?fa=contentImageGallery.listImages&directoryId=15435
Morgan is part of the family, he is the best dog ever and listen very well, He has his own loveseat and camping chair.
My dog Archie is small but fierce in love and loyalty. I really love him so much. He is protective and affectionate and looks you right in the eye.

My Terrier Mix Truman is a 22 pound lap dog! I rescued him from the pound the night before he was going to be put down. He looks at me with such love and is my constant companion!
Best-Friend is a southern flying squirrel, which is probably special in and of itself. But my favorite thing about her is the chortling sound she makes when she’s happy.
My dog is special because he loves babies. When he sees a baby in a stroller, he stands patiently by the stroller while the baby delightedly hits and pokes him.
I have 2 dogs. Both of them think that they are human children. They don’t like to be alone and the highlight of their day is when I sit down on the couch with them.
Our dog saved my husband. I really believe that if we didn’t have her he would not have had an incentive to overcome the depression he felt after having several strokes. She brought his smile and laugh back.
Kouga is special because he is a rescue dog who has really made big strides. He is now a certified therapy dog that brings happiness and joy to others. When we got him he was so scared and shy, now he is a confident, sweet dog.
I’m disabled by a chronic painful illness, and suffer from severe depression, so my dogs are a very important part of my therapy.
My 3 chihuahua kids give me so much love and they amuse me, so I can forget my pain for a little while.
I have two rescue dogs, both of them are special but in different ways. Scooby is very prim and proper and loves to be pampered. Shaggey, on the other hand, it’s very much a tom boy and loves to roll in the dirt or poo
sometimes. They are my special babies.
Charlie is my precious pit bull. He showed up at our country home as a small puppy and has been a part of the family for a year. His beauty and spirit makes him irresistible!

Our dog, Buddy is so special to us because he is a part of the family. He protects us, cuddles with us and loves us unconditionally.
Hunter, our 11 year old female yellow labrador retriever, is the sweetest, most well behaved dog I have ever known. Our friends actually argue over who will get to “babysit” her during past family emergencies or the overnight job trainings. Everyone falls in love with her when they meet her. This is significant as her personality has remained unchanged during the significant challenges she has had the past year. Another dog accidently knocked her down 3 steps and she became paralized in her hind legs. After a review of x-rays our veterarian stated that he didn’t feel she would walk again. For months she had to use a “doggie wheelchair” to get around. However, through much love from our family and her awesome determination and persistance she eventually regained use of her hind legs and is walking today without assistance. Through it all her sweet disposition never changed. She is our baby and is very deserving of a portrait.
Pork Chop is so special to us. She actually thinks she human! LOL She plays hide and go seek with the kids, of course she’s always it, but loves it. She just has this lovable personality that everyone loves. She is beagle/english bulldog mix. This would be so cool to hang her portrait next to the family’s pictures.
My dog, Boston, is deserving of a pet portrait! He is a two year old black lab/German Shephard/Coon Hound mix. We rescued him at the young age of 3 weeks from a local shelter and he’s been so grateful every single day for the life we’ve provided him. Boston is known all around our neighborhood in New York City for being the most affectionate and friendly dog most people have ever seen. He picks up on human emotions very quickly and sometimes even thinks he is our child (which in fact, we do treat him like one!). Boston has such a powerful presence in our home, community and beyond. We would like to compliment that with a portrait next to our own.
**Became a fan of Petcentric on Facebook: (Vanessa W.) and am following Petcentric on Twitter! Love it!
Pookie had been having some upper respiratory problems and we were able to nurse him back to health after finding him laying on the floor. I never did get any baby pictures of him because he was so sick and I didn’t want to upset him. He’ll be 5 years old this year and we’d love to get a portrait of him. His preserverance has amazed me…he’s a real survivor!
What makes our puppy so special is, among other things, the personality that we have watched develope… oh, and the fact that there are THREE of them!
My dog Zeus is the most hilarious, loving dog I’ve ever had. He makes me laugh every single day, and heaps affection on me, too. I can’t imagine life without this wonderful boy. Thanks!
We call my dog Houdini because he keeps escaping his triple-locked crate in the middle of the night and running around the house like a maniac! Thanks
My 5 Border Collies are amazing! They love to herd and work all day and then they come in and cuddle all night with us!
My pet is special because hes part of my family. Hes a north american black and white skunk which are widely illegal in the US because of the spread of rabies. Every time someone meets him they realize what wonderful pets skunks can make : )
Everyone thinks their pet is special, including me! My Dog Bear is the best pet I have ever had, he is my best friend he is always there for me!
My dog Kendall Bob is special b/c he’s my best friend. He and I have been inseparable for 5 years. We’ve traveled the country together. He’s always been loyal, sweet, & just an all-round good dog!

Katy is the perfect dog – she has been our parents’ dog for over 8 years and she is smarter than any other you will find.
Daisy is my 7 1/2 year old Yorkie that was given to me by my whole family for my 50th birthday. Everyone chipped in $100 to buy her for my present. She is my dog but she loves my husband Bill! He didn’t want an indoor dog but my sisters and niece talked him in to it. He chipped in his $100. That has been the best $100 he has ever spent. He loves that dog! I joke that Daisy is keeping my marriage alive. We both love her and would love to have a portrait of our Daisy! Thanks!
My Annie was found in a broken down barn that had crumbled to the ground. She was a tiny puppy near death. She survived being treated by the vet and has grown to become a beautiful dog with a shining personality. She has such spunk and enjoys roaming our woods each day for whatever fun adventure she can get into. She’s so precious to us.
My rescue was adopted from the Detroit Humane Society. We had to sign special papers stating we knew that she had problems when we took her,.. An example of this was that she was terrifed to leave her cage at the Humane Society. Aside from the fear in her large sad eyes-I saw love. She threw up in the car ride home. And spent most of her first three months either hidden under our bed or a chair in the living-room. Fast forward, one year later and Mitzi G. has come around and those big brown eyes of hers sparkle now!
My guinea pigs are very great pets. I have 4, a mom and three babies. They all have such unique personalities, I wouldn’t trade them for anything.
My dog Kona is a huge doberman who sings. Everytime we say sing she actually sings…..she is so talented. Wish you could hear her now!
My cat, Ally, is a big part of our family. She is cute and cuddly but also runs and plays with my boys. She fits into our family perfectly and I couldn’t imagine not having her!
My rescued Boxer loves to prop his front feet on my chair while I am at my computer, and howl with me! His is so funny.
We’re a rescue family and currently have 11 dogs. It would be quite a feat getting all or most of them together for a photo. They each have their own personalities and get along most of the time.
I enjoy reading Petcentric, and the most precious pet I’ve ever had the pleasure of “being owned by”, my beloved cat Mickey passed away on October 2, 2009. He was my constant companion, my shadow, my confidante and someone who truly understood me, my moods and all that made me who I am. He passed away from CRF, and I nursed him night and day (literally) for 1 1/2 weeks when my vet wanted to put him down 16 days before that.
He thrived on the total love and attention, and didn’t want to leave me, just as I didn’t want him to go. I would dearly love to have a portrait done of him from one of the many photos I’ve taken of him throughout his 11 years of life.
My Granny died 2 years ago-she loved BIG dogs! I have a 6 year old cocker spaniel (two cockers have owned me in my lifetime) …this spring while visiting my grandmas house-noone lives there anymore
—-! I found a 2 year old boxer living on her porch!! I hung flyers , called radio stations and could never find his “owner”. I brought him home and he just moved right in! He is such a blessing to my family and I would love to have a portrait of him !!
My dog, Hanso, is a beagle we rescued from the local shelter. She has epilepsy, but that hasn’t stopped her from doing anything and is the sweetest, most loveable dog imaginable. I feel that it is she who found ME, and I’m grateful to have her. I’d love to have a portrait of her, she is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen and I could stare at her all day!
my kitten is a calico with a lightning bolt of stripey orange right down the middle of her face- She is a total clown with a lot to say!

Well every pet must be special to their owner, but what makes our little dog girl special for me are the feelings she bring out in me. She’s like my child and not a dog, her wellbeing is on the top of my list and she’s bringing joy into our life, so I want to give her a happy life as well. So she’s just very special – I’m glad we got her and couldn’t imagine a life without her
my dog has been through alot of health problems. he has no muscles left in his head…i have a pic of when he looked nice and it would make a nice picture. hes a good dog.

My dog has seen me through some rough spots and has always been there with love. She can pick me up when I’m down.. get me up and moving to exercise when I want to sleep in and make me feel invincible after a tough day at work.
My Heidi is very friendly, to the point that when she’s being walked, people will come out to greet her!
I would love to get a painting of our kitty Abby. She was the runt of the litter so she is very srawny and small and everyone who comes over can not believe we like her, when they first meet her but after just a few minutes, they all come around and realize what a great cat she is because she is Very cuddly and affectionate.
Princess and Hershey always are waiting for me at the front door when i get home from work. I always get a big welcome.
My Larz is a ball fanatic. He is so funny that if you won’t play with him he’ll toss it for himself. And he is just the sweetest.

King is a small dog (5 pound Silky) but doesn’t realize it! He tries to chase the UPS truck, go after big dogs, etc. Fortunately he’s also a smart dog and without obiedence classes has learned to stop and come to me when I tell him to. King is the king of our house and that’s why we think he’s special!
