My favorite candy is Milky Way-I try to hold those until last on Halloween so I get to eat what is left after the children leave!
I like to add faux-blood, made of syrup, added to Halloween themed cocktails. The red color of the “blood” is a good surrogate for grenadine.

My dog is going trick or treating tomorrow. Our local dog bakery gives biscuits to all the neighboring businsess and then the dressed up dogs visit each business and get different treats. He is going as a ghoul this year.

I had a very quiet Halloween. We live in the country, so don’t get any trick or treaters, but did take my grandson into town for some rounds of the main street goodie giveaway.

I remember when EVERY house did “Trick or Treat” and the wonderful little mini-chocolate bars seemed to last forever in the big bowl in the kitchen. I hope that one day America can return to such an era of trust, good will, and community.
When they say trick or treat I’ll show them a stupid trick if they seem game. They still get the goodies, of course…

Proud of myself! I bought candy for both my son and my grandmother tonight and resisted the urge to by some for myself. YAY for me =)
All our haloween candy is finally gone. No more temptation. But now they’re already selling Christmas candies at the store!
We had so few kids come trick’r'treating this year – a neighbor told us she knew many Moms who wouldn’t let their kids go for fear of getting the flu. So we have lots of candy left if anyone wants to put on a costume and knock on our door!
For Halloween, we had to sit outside to greet the kids. The three dogs go wild when the doorbell is rung (like they should).
One year my daughter went out with a pillowcase to trick or treat. An older kid grabbed her case and stole all the candy. She was sobbing when she came home. We got her settled down and she went back out to the same houses and because they knew she wouldn’t lie about something like that she ended up with twice as much candy as she started with! Very nice neighbors.
My favorite halloween candy would have to be Reeses Cups. Yum! I have been trying valiantly not to raid the kids’ Halloween candy.
My all time favorite costume was a bag of jelly beans. I cut holes in a clear garbage bag and secured it at my waste after filling it with small colorful balloons. I was about 10 and it was fun to command more space for once.
Reeses Cups will always be my favorite candy. That dog is so cute. My adorable granddog was dressed as an elf for Halloween. Didnt dress my lillte 12 yr old pomapoo up because I knew he would bite me if I did.
Until I was in third grade we lived in a rural area where houses were far apart so no trick or treating. I remember how my parents calmed my anxiety about moving by hyping the fact that we would be in a suburb and I could go out for a big Halloween night of trick or treating.
What happened when the girl dressed as a spoon left the Halloween party ?
No one moved, they couldn’t stir without her !
I made my little girls halloween costume this year. She went as Little Red Riding Hood. She looked so cute!

I’m not allowed to buy Halloween candy with chocolate in it, because I always dig those pieces out for myself! I have a special fondness for the “fun size” Snickers by the handful…
My favorite Halloween candy is 5th Avenue bars. They’re hard to find in the fun size though, so I usually go with Reese’s since they’re just as good.
I love seeing all the neighborhood kids in their costumes each year. There were lots of vampires this time, not a surprise.

I put up 1200 little orange lights on my front bushes this year…along with the moving lightup spider it was hard to miss out house!

I missed both haunted houses and the corn maze this year due to a combination of illness and weather. This is just hitting me now. I need something fun sized to help dull the pain.

I got smart this year and handed out candy that I don’t really like (Twizzlers) and so far I’ve resisted the after-Halloween candy sales. I like candy far too much. Faves are Kit Kats and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. Yum!

I loved getting to get dressed up and get out with that big paper grocery bag, ya know the old brown paper ones you used to get before plastic was in! That bag held LOTS of candy! We went to an apartment complex and gort lots there. One lady served hot cider on her porch! We went home and mom got out her biggest bowls one for each of us and we dumped our candy into them and thought we were rich! So much candy! We loved it!
