“A Rare Breed of Love” Giveaway

I am really excited to announce this giveaway! “A Rare Breed of Love” is the true story of Baby, a rescue, and the mission she inspired. Here is a little background:
Jana Kohl, Psy.D.: is a writer, artist, clinical psychologist, and animal welfare advocate. From a young age her primary drives were to aid social justice causes and do philanthropic work. Having worked for the Simon Wiesenthal Center for Holocaust Studies for many years, and now as an animal welfare advocate, she has long been concerned with how cruelty can become sanctioned by society. Kohl has testified before the Illinois State Legislature on the link between legalized violence against animals and inter-human violence. She has participated in numerous animal welfare campaigns, most notably to end the sale of foie gras in her hometown of Chicago, Illinois. Kohl currently resides in California with Baby and a cat named Kitty Pie, whom she also adopted.
Baby: spent the first nine years of her life locked in a cage at a breeder’s home in Northern California, and was rescued by a passing stranger on the day she was scheduled to be killed for having gotten too old to produce litters. Through a pet rescue website, Baby found a “forever home” with Jana Kohl. She spends her time advocating for other abused dogs and animals, and best of all, being cuddled, kissed, and snuggled by her “Ma.”

As a 22 year veteran of rescue in Houston, I keep thinking nothing will faze me anymore. 8-15 year old poms and chihuahuas being turned in to shelters by breeders when they can no longer produce litters still
gives me nightmares. I have several tattooed geriatrics at my feet as I type this!
I would love to read this. It is such a shame hearing about all the abuse that goes on with puppy mills. It’ far too rare that there is a happy ending for most of them. They had a segment on the new here in Florida the other day that told about how some of the dogs were doing that were recently rescued from one. The difference that someone can make in the lives of these pets if they are only willing to give them a chance.
I’d so love to read this book! My dog Rupert has been the only being in my life to give me complete and unconditional love!
This sounds like a great book-with 3 rescued cats here at my home and rescued rabbits, dog and cat at my parents we really love animals! Mom & I would love to read this!
I know this may sound odd to some……but I was very ill and confined to my bed and Rupert used to lay with me. I had a near death experience through Rupert and my life changed after that moment. I will always love Rupert and I miss him so
When I was a baby, my parents had a Boxer named Tammy. She would pull me around the house by my diaper and one day went into a room that had a step down………she didn’t realize that I would go boom lol
My daughter is having a hard time right now and she has always loved animals. I think she would benefit from reading this book.
Thanks
I love animals, we raise dachshunds and currently have 9.
I would love to win this book!
Thanks so much for the opportunity!

every pet i’ve ever had i either got from the shelter or rescued from the side of the road myself. people need to spay an neuter animals and not buy pets because the little ones look cute. they are like little babies and they need you to take care of them. they will go in the house every now and then you will have to train them. i love my babies and don’t regret adopting them for a single moment
My best friends my whole life, have been my pets, but dogs especially. How I’d love to read this book.
Thanks
I have always been understood better by animals than by humans–and I think they deserve much more respect and should have many more rights–I think I would really enjoy this book.
I have a 3-legged dog, Zeke, that I adopted from a foster group that saved him from being put to sleep.
As an animal lover, this book really perked my interest. it’s shameful that so many people abuse and abandon pets every year
Our Boxer, Tammy, was a very social dog and quite friendly to her doggy neighbours.
One day, according to my mom, Tammy brought home about 3 dogs and showed them every room of the house and then escorted them outside.
I loved her so
I love dogs and i wish more people loved them enough to have them spayed and neutered. the pounds are filled with dogs who were abandoned and abused. every animal i’ve ever owned was rescued from the pound or found abandoned on my property and i’ve never regreted that for one moment
I need to read this book. Things in my life have become especially hectic and this would centre me out some I believe.
As this is the last day, this is my last comment……thanks for the giveaway and the chance to win.
Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.

sounds like a great book!
