My beloved 18 yr old cat passed away. I would love to have a custom made by Tabatha Rhodes 5×7 pet portrait of her to cherish.
The painting is beautiful, I have always wanted to be a real artist, I can paint but not like that. Owning a pet is a real commitment. I’ve had pets my entire life, and love all animals. I have 4 dogs (mom, dad and 2 puppies who are now almost 2 years old) all the females are spayed and the dad who is about 13 years old well I just left him alone I figure he deserves it. Winning this painting would truly be something special.
It would mean the whole world to me to win this prize. I have a kerry blue terrier and she is like my very best friend. We have been through so much together. Now she is getting old and I see her wearing down. To have her in portrait would be wonderful. I love her so much.

i resisted getting a dog because i didnt want to always have to take care of a pet. My son bugged me and bugged me. Finally 2 years ago we relented and bought Ozzy a cockapoo. Sure enough my and I give 90% of the care. But I must say after a hard day at work the only one to greet me is my dog. He follows me around the house and is very loving. Im glas he is a part of out family.

We recently lost our beloved Molly Ann (Engish Setter) at the age of 10. She was my 19-year-old son’s comfort and best friend all through school. I would love for an artist to capture her spirit in a protrait to sit on his desk to remind him of everything that gave to each other.
I have two cats ages 2 and 4. I will also have two pugs ages 8 months and 2 years next week. I love animals and we grew up with many pets. My mom was an avid animal lover and worked with Humane Society for many years and also worked for a veterinarian. She just passed away unexpectedly in March of MRSA pneumonia. She was only 57 with no medical health problems. When her animals died, she cremated them and kept them safe within her home. I would love to win a painting to keep the tradition of my mother’s love for animals by having a portrait done of my animals or one of hers that have passed.
My terripoo dog is 12 yrs old and a portrait would be lovely to have for the day when she is no longer with me.

I don’t have a pet but my sister has a little Schitzu dog (sp?) that is very dear to me. Her name’s Ariel, she’s about 12 years old now. She isn’t the most beautiful dog until you look in those sweet little eyes of hers. A precious animal. I’ve actually thought several times about having something like this done for her, I’d never be able to afford it though.

My 1 yr old (?) Chihuahua was rescued out of a dumpster while visiting my upholsterer in a not-so-nice-part of Los Angeles. She was skin and bones but loveable from the moment I picked her up. I’d love a portrait of her to send to my mom as I present of how beautiful and wonderful she looks now, since my mom helped me financially and emotionally nurse the puppy back to health. This artist is amazingly talented!
My friend just lost her beloved Shih Tzu – he was such a special dog, and part of my family in a way as well since we baby-sat for him. He had a fast growing brain tumor, and it has been a devastating loss, he was just 4 years old, but touched the lives of so many people! Having a portrait of Buddi would be an incredible gift for his family.

Hi! I am lucky enough to have a beautiful miniature schnauzer baby named Lillian who would LOVE with a capital “L” to have her picture done. She’s quite the diva, and everyone who meets her knows it immediately. Lots ask if she’s a puppy, but she’s actually 4 years old. Your are talented at doing animals, and I’m sure you could make Lillian feel like the princess she is!
Wow! Such a great prize and so many great stories!
We adopted our lovable mutt (mostly black lab, some american pit, and some chow — at least we think since she has a black polka dot tongue!) last year. What a year! It’s our first pet together (my first ever) and we’d love to have our old lady (she’s about 9 or 10) immortalized. We also just bought our first house and have PLENTY of wall space.
I couldn’t think of a better way to fill it.
Thanks for this opportunity. (I found your blog through Aimee’s Adventures’ blog.)

Well, I have 4 cats and a turtle. . . and it’s too hard to choose which one I would want a portrait of – maybe Dibbs because we’ve raised her from 4 days old, or Lola because she is so pretty, or Coco because she’s so sweet. . .
I have three cats. If I had to choose just one to have a portrait made of, it would be Esper. She’s a fighter who had a very tough kittenhood.
We have two kitties. They were what kept me sane when I first moved out on my own for the first time. As scared as I was living alone in a shady apartment building, I had them to keep me company – plus in the event of an emergency, or in most cases (the firealarm) my mommy instinct kicked in and they’ve prepped me for what’s next to come in adult-hood!
I have a seven year old pug, and she is like my third sister! Me and my sister go for icecream she sits in the front seat with us and sits on the bench with us as we eat ice cream. When we jump in the pool she barks till no end cause she gets scared that we are in danger. With much contemplation we get her to go swimming in the pool with us!! She even sits on floats and relaxed!!

Thank you for the great opportunity.

Dear Tabatha Rhodes,
Bennett, my Cav King Chas Spaniel, will be 11 years old on July 11…this is considered quite a feat for this breed as most don’t make it to 10. A few months ago, I noticed his gray whiskers and brows. I also started to notice that my “Big Boy” Bennett doesn’t get as excited about going for his daily walk as he used to and he rarely brings me a toy to play with him. It took me five years to convince my husband to get a dog and then an additional year to agree to the breed. With that said, I doubt that another dog is in the picture for me, and I’ve begun to consider every day with Bennett a bonus day.
I have purchased some Cav King Chas Spaniels items, and they are wonderfully accurate to the breed; however, Bennett is an imperfect King Chas and the items come close, but do not capture him. When I got Bennett, I signed an agreement to neither show him nor breed him. Bennett is a blenheim and has a patch of ruby brown on the left side of his mouth, which makes him “unwanted” by show and breeder standards. A portrait of my “flawed” Bennett would be perfect to me, just as he is each day.
Thank you for considering my entry.

My first and only cat, passed away one week ago today at 16 years old. I had her almost half my life. It had to be my decision to put her to sleep because she lost the use of her back legs suddenly. After going immediately to the vet, it turned out she had bone marrow cancer– probably for a long time, but never once showed me she was sick. She did not make it through the night. She was such a gift to me, in companionship and friendship, and so brave and generous until her last day. Everybody loved her, she had a strong and unique ‘personality’ and tried to communicate with humans with her voice and sometimes some sophisticated cat-charades. I am still trying to deal with the loss of this little furball who really became a part of myself. I find I need pictures everywhere, so I can see and have some comfort, to remind me that this special animal is not lost, but with me still. Fortunately, I have many photographs, but a memorial painting would really do her justice. She was gorgeous, all white with a black tail and a black ring around each ear. She will be missed.
I would love to have a portrait done of my dog, she is like a kid to me and would love to have something to cherish forever!
We have two cats and two beagles–love them all equally—-I think it would be hard to decide who would get the portrait, but they are all deserving because they give us so much unconditional love.
I have a 3 year old dog named Sydney. She has been almost completely blind since birth due to a condition called juvenile cataracts but she is still an amazing dog. Last weekend she won a trophy in the 4-H Dog obedience show. She beat out about 10 other dogs in her class and was runner up for Grand Champion of the whole show. She is definitely an inspiration for all as she proves that even though one may have obstacles they can be overcome.
I have a 6 year old Boston Terrier who is my best friend. It just doesn’t feel right if she’s not by my side all the time. I adore her and if I had a portrait of her I would cherish it. Thanks!
