Vet-Stem Guest Post
Any dog owner will tell you that watching a beloved pooch in pain is heartbreaking. Being unable to help that pup makes the situation even worse. Until recently, dogs that developed orthopedic problems were faced with limited treatment options. Many simply suffered, or worse, had to be euthanized. However, times have changed. Thanks to the use of fat derived adult stem and regenerative cells and cutting edge science, injured dogs and their owners are finding new hope.
A company located in San Diego called Vet-Stem has developed a therapy that helps dogs recover from arthritis and other orthopedic injuries without major surgery. Using a sample of fat taken directly from the animal, Vet-Stem’s regenerative cell therapy isolates stem and regenerative cells, allowing the dog’s vet to inject them back into the injured tissue. Once injected into the animal, the cells stimulate the healthy cell’s growth and allow the muscles and tissue to repair themselves.
Since the fat derived adult stem and regenerative cells come from the animal’s own body there is no risk of rejection, making the procedure extremely successful. In fact, most of the animals treated returned to close to their pre-injury level of activity.
Fortunately, Vet-Stem has recently launched nationally with hundreds of vets capable of performing this procedure, there are success stories popping up all over the country. Take Hunter, the 9 year old Golden Retriever who could barely walk or stand. His story, told in this Nightline piece, shows the positive effects adult stem cell therapy has had on his debilitating arthritis.
With over 3,000 animals already treated and over 400 vets certified in this procedure, Vet-Stem’s stem cell therapy isn’t futuristic research. It is here and now, helping pets and their owners across the nation. For more information or to find a practicing vet in your area, visit www.vet-stem.com.

This is truly amazing. I wish this had been available when my Rottie had arthritis. Thanks so much for posting this valuable information.
