  17. Jeanne B-W says:

I don’t know if my dogs are “salty” — they think water is for drinking only. But they are definitely two spaniels with “cockertude”. And I love them dearly.

  18. Elizabeth M. says:

I don’t have a salty dog. She’s more of a hunter but she will jump in the pool now and then. I think stories about animals do my heart good so that’s why I would like to read another one, this one.

  19. Sandy M says:

My “salty” dog is Buck and although we do not live near the beach, he loves getting wet in the river, the lake and the pool. Great giveaway!

  20. Kelly T. says:

My dogs are wet dogs right now. It has been raining and raining here in Missouri and they hate to get their paws wiped when they come back in. They were snow dogs earlier this winter and they loved that, it was hard to get them to come into the house. They do get to the park with a sand beach but the water is fresh water not salty. I would love to win because I love all dogs and enjoy reading about them.

  21. Sue Farrell says:

I have two beagles that would love to be salty dogs–as long as they don’t get too wet. I enjoy reading all types of books–and especially ones that are connected to animals so I’m sure I would enjoy this one.

  22. Neva says:

What a great idea! I have 3 dogs….none of them have ever been to the beach but I would LOVE to take them…unfortunately….not that many beaches in the Mid West!! I love the dogs on the beach and how Jean gets the photos of these dogs are fabulous.

  25. Rachel Fox says:

I’m not sure if she’s ‘salty’ or not, but she sure does sweat when you rub her belly! Thanks for a great offer!

  26. Virginia says:

Everywhere I travel I enjoy seeing all of the different types of dogs….It’s really amazing how different they are from country to country…It’s a different way of remembering the countries I visit…thanks for the awesome opportunity to win a signed copy of the book.

  27. Julie Ford says:

Dog lover – yes; salty dogs – no.

I would like to win the book just because I love animals, especially my Cocker Spaniel, Samuel.

  28. Lori says:

I’d love this book! I have a salty dog – a black lab named Wiley. She is 8 years old now. She gets a little lazy now when it comes to water. She more or less just wades around in it. She used to run and bounce through the water when she was younger.

  29. kate5405 says:

Our two salty dogs love the beach and running in the ocean. We are lucky to live near the beach so they get to go all the time. I’d love this book. Thanks for offering it.

  30. Angie says:

    No salty dog here.

We have a Basset Hound and he’s spoiled rotten. It would be great to add this book to my shelf. We love the beach too. When I first saw the title of the post, my immediate thought was the “Salty Dog” drink they serve at our favorite All-Inclusive Jamaican resort. Had to LOL!

  31. Clenna says:

    I have a ‘salty dog’ named Mazie – she’s a Golden Ret. She’s a great dog.
I love to read about dogs – all types.

  32. Angela says:

Melos is our “salty dog” he is so opinionated and defently “royality” lol but he loves my son to pieces and even sleeps by him when he is taking his naps.

I added your contest to prizeatron!

  33. Christine Groce says:

I have a miniature schnauzer who was a single pup birth and let’s you know it. He is lovable, feisty, playful and “all of the above”. This book would be great for my grandchildren whom he loves and they love him back. Please count me in. Thanks!

  34. Barb E says:

I have 2 salty dogs that love to run across the sandy beach chasing each other & teasing the waves too, “try to catch us if you can.”

  35. Kristin says:

I have two little ones, a Jack Russell and a Rat Terrier. Although they both despise the water, this book reminds me of when I got my Rattie, he was born in OBX. Seeing the photos make me giggle.

  36. Paul M says:

I have 2 salty labs that love running in and out with the surf (tongues flapping of course). Love playing hard with them and the nap that follows. I’d love to show them that there are other dogs just like them!

  37. Vicki says:

I’d love to win this book! As an apartment dweller, I don’t have a salty dog myself, but my grand-pup, Eve, loves the beach (although not so much the water).

  38. Kristy says:

We have a lab also who is definitely a salty dog. He’d live in the water! I’d love this book cause I collect doggie books!

  39. Carol Ezovski says:

My chocolate lab would go crazy at the beach! He’s never really been to a sandy beach, but he’s crazy about the lakes we’ve been to. So he’d definitely be a salty dog given the chance! This book sounds so great! I wanna win!

  40. Susan Ledet says:

My beloved salty dog recently passed away. We lived in Florida for most of his life and he just loved the beach. I plan to get another salty dog one day when the hurt has eased up a bit. I would love to win this in memory of my beloved Scooter.

  41. Ann says:

Well, we used to have 2 Golden Retrievers, but now have a cat (who sometimes thinks he’s a dog!). I would love to win this for my daughter who still misses the dogs (and so do I). Thanks for the great give away!

  42. Cindi says:

Greetings, I read about her book and the pictures with quotes sound delightful! I am an animal lover from way back. My dad grew up with all kinds of pets and my mom used to dress up kittens and push them in a baby buggy. Then, my only brother became a veterinarian. With his business, we took in every stray animal. I would like to win this book for my family. My husband and sons would enjoy it, my sister and my 89 year old dad. He recently lost one of his last two dogs and is still grieving. He loves to look at animal/dog pictures. We don’t have a
“sandy” dog because we live in the Midwest. I am sure our 16 year old dog would be because he is a Lab mix. Please enter me in your drawing. Thanks very much…..Cindi

  43. Donna Hunt says:

When I was growing up, we had a “Salty Dog.” Her name was Cuddles and she was a black lab. I think the only thing she liked better than the water was travelling. I love dogs and want to win this book because the pictures that I saw are adorable! Thank you for the contest!

  44. Jessica says:

This looks really cute! My Jack Russell Terror, oops I mean Terrier loves the water. When we bring her to the beach she likes to paddle out into the bay and has even been known to battle a horseshoe crab or two. She’s 10 years old now and shows no signs of slowing down!

  45. Erica G says:

My English Bulldog Wonston loves being a Slaty Dog. He can’t swim really well so the beach is perfect for him. Me can lay in the sand and let the water come to him. He loves the beach, but hates the pool because of the drop off. The book looks like a lot of fun.

  46. Jennifer Barnett says:

I am a Aunt to two Salty Dogs. Gotta love the fellows. They eat EVERYTHING. Last month, they ate part of the walls. Yep, drywall is not a healthy dog diet. A trip to the vet was in order.

  47. Vicki W says:

I would love to be able to let my dogs experience the beach! As for now, they’ll just have to enjoy the pool!

This looks like a really fun book!

  48. Kathy W says:

We just got back from the beach yesterday — took our new tiny “Shorkie” puppy who tried to dig her way to China inthe sand (only got 3 inches down however!) We now live in the Midwest and miss the ocean!! Perhaps it is our entire family that are the Salty Dogs!!!

  49. Vicky Boackle says:

i have a lab that loves water but has not been in salty water yet.this looks like a fun book.

  50. Mya Brooks says:

Looks like a lot of beach loving dogs out there. I hope who ever wins the books, enjoys it as much as I enjoyed photographing the dogs!
    good Luck!

  55. marleen davis says:

I had a salty dog, unfortunately he has gone to doggy heaven. But I’m sure he’s having fun with all the other salts.

  56. Angela M. says:

    I’m a beach-lover (& a dog-lover), so I’d love to win this book.

We don’t live near the beach, so I can’t say for sure whether my dogs are “salty dogs.” I can say for sure my older dog would have nothing to do with the water! I have 2 dogs, both rescues. My first pup, Bernie, is scared to death of water: he even does a wide arc of puddles & sprinklers. Don’t think he’d like the ocean! Kelly, on the other hand, is a lab mix. We haven’t been able to coax her into the pool *yet* but we think she might like swimming under the right circumstances.

    Thanks for the great giveaway!

  57. Tonya Keener says:

I would love to read Salty Dog because it seems like it would be funny and it is not like anything I have ever read before

  59. Carol Harrity says:

I imagine my big black lab, Happy, qualifies as a “salty” dog-he loves the beach.

  60. christopher h says:

i don’t have a salty dog, but my brother does, i’d love to win a copy to give as a gift

  61. Michelle S. says:

What a wonderful giveaway. I grew up with lost of dogs who would have lived at the beach if we let them and my almost fourteen year old beaglish still acts like a puppy the minute he gets sand between his little pads. He loves to romp through the surf and howl at the gulls. He has recently become ill, and I’m very much afraid our time is running short. There is so much I will desperately miss, but nothing more than our Saturday morning beach wanderings, especially the quiet winter ones.

  62. Cheryl Larimer says:

I would love to share this with our grandchildren. Thanks for the awesome giveaway!
