I love my Furminator. I have a pug, a shepherd, and a Saint Bernard. They are all three prolific shedders, especially the pug. Since I’ve gotten the Furminator, you would never know I have pets. There is no more dog hair on my clothing or furniture. My shepherd was a rescue dog who had never been brushed before, so she had a terrible coat. Thanks to the Furminator, her coat is now soft and glossy. Love that thing!
Just a warning to NOT use it on a non-shedding dog…
Now, why would you think of it? To help reduce matting. But, damages the folicles of non-shedding (usually curly) fur, causing it to mat MORE! There are warnings on the package for this, too, but they are pretty small.
Personal experience here.
I’ve seen LOTS of good results with shedding dogs.
I need to get me one of these for sure. With three cats and two dogs at my house, there is a constant mess of fur everywhere!
Count me in as a happy Furminator user too. I have the medium sized one. I use it on my four very hairy dogs (samoyed, pyrenees, and border collie mixes plus a golden retriever). Interestingly, it works really well on my cats too. They actually really LIKE how it feels I think. Actually, I wrote a review of it here right after I got it:

The FURminator! is awesome. I really did not believe it when I saw the video. We have a yellow lab that sheds like crazy year round. Every day we sweep up a about a 12 inch ball of fur from our house. I am not sure whether or not she sheds more or less than your typical lab but it seems like a lot. Like I said I was very skeptical but desperate so we tried one. It was really amazing the amount of hair removed. It was very comparable to the video if not more. I had a white garbage bag full of hair. Our Daisy looked five pounds lighter. This is one of the few products that is more substance than hype.
