Power of words

This is a good article, so please click and read it when you get a chance. Here is the part that I loved most, a short essay from a second grader named Noah. Kids are known for speaking the truth (sometimes at great embarrassment to their parents), and this is certainly a good example!

Why Animals Should Not Be Called Things

By Noah S.B. Williams

Animals should not be called things because they are beings, not things.

Shame on the people who call animals things.

If I could I would give the person who first called animals things a
talking-to. I would not call animals things.

Think about this. If you loved someone, would you call them a thing? I
wish no one had ever called animals things.

Why would you call your pet a thing?

A rug or something is a thing, but not an animal. He or she is not a
thing! This is not funny, it’s all true. I would not lie to you about
this. It’s not a joke.

Do not lie to me, either.

DIY Doggie Cam

I just got an email about a fun do it yourself project for a doggie cam. Have you ever wondered what the world looks like from your dog’s point of view? This tutorial from Photojojo can help you find out!

It’s not very hard either, and you will love the Gorillapod for so many other things too, it’s totally worth trying this project.

Thank you to all who have written lately. I am very excited to share with you all some awesome books and product reviews in the near future. I am going to be a little behind though because this week my dad was in the hospital with a stroke (he is home now and doing great), and of course that kept us all very busy and worried. I have also had a fairly bad cold on top of it. Not much time for blogging!

So, if you have written recently, please be assured that I have read your mail and will get back to you just as soon as things calm down. Thank you!
