Mold sniffing dogs!

Dogs are helping people in a new and unexpected way, with their high powered noses and great sense of smell, they can detect mold in buildings. This is good news for anyone who needs to have a good, clean, air quality inside and needs an effective way of finding out if there is mold present.

This particular company is located in New Jersey, and they do their mold testing with dogs. There are so many reasons to get your home or office tested for mold, and anyone with allergies already understands the importance of having a mold free environment. I just love the idea of dogs being trained to help people find the mold. Dogs seem to be able to sniff out all kinds of troubles, and they do a much better job than the traditional methods of mold testing because they are able to smell the mold behind the walls. Traditional methods of sample taking often miss mold that is hidden, and it can be somewhat destructive to your home. Dogs just use that powerful nose to sniff around, and that’s all it takes! Plus, they are cute!

According to the EPA, “use of mold detection dogs could significantly reduce sampling costs required to unequivocally identify the culprit in indoor air contamination.” Sounds like a great thing to me! Reduce costs, and reduce indoor air problems, and all with the help of man’s best friend!
