Dotty Rhino is an animated website aimed at educating and inspiring children about endangered species, and all of our characters actually exist in a real-life game reserve in Tanzania which protects black rhino and wild African hunting dogs. The game reserve also employs a local workforce and improving school and water supplies for surrounding villages.

Blog Day 2007

Happy Blog Day all! Here are 5 great animal related blogs that I want to highlight. You may already know of them, but maybe you’ll find a new favorite or two.

  1. CuteOverload. Yes, this one I am sure you have heard of, but if you want cute, silly, fun, photos of animals to brighten your day, this blog has got you covered.
  2. IFAW’s Animal Rescue Blog. Seriously good blog about rescue efforts for all animals in many places. I love this one.
  3. Muttrosexual. A new blog that mainly features cool products for the ultra cool dog in your life. A very cute dog writes it too!
  4. Celebrity Dog Watcher, because even celebrities have dogs. Good, silly fun.
  5. Great Green Pet. This blog is great for pet owners who want to go green and want their pet products to do the same.

There are so many other great pet blogs (many are on my sidebar) that I wanted to feature, but I had to limit it to 5. Hopefully you will find a great new read or two from Blog Day!

Steve Irwin Day

If you are lucky enough to be in Australia on November 15th, head on over to Australia Zoo to celebrate Steve Irwin Day!

Join Australia Zoo in our first annual celebration of remembering the one and only Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin. Bring your family and share with us what mattered most to Steve - Family, Animals, Conservation and most importantly FUN! The day will be jam packed full of entertainment, activities for the family and shows that will bring out the Wildlife Warrior in all of us! Crikey! You won’t want to miss this!

I am glad to see that they are celebrating the life of Steve Irwin and keeping his message alive and strong. I just wish I had a plane ticket to Australia so I could join in the fun!

Wendy’s, time for a change.

Filed Under (people helping animals) by Aimee on 29-08-2007

I admit it, I like to go to Wendy’s, especially for the vanilla Frosty. So, I was sad when I heard the news from the Humane Society of USA that Wendy’s isn’t as animal friendly as it could be.

Here is a link to the Humane Society website that tells about Wendy’s using eggs from hens in cages so small they can’t even spread their wings. I don’t care if you eat meat, or are a vegan, no animal deserves to be treated poorly while it is being raised for food. Let’s encourage the fair treatment of all animals.

This is a paid review for DoggyMentor.com.

DoggyMentor.com is a website that offers useful information about training your dog. Anyone who has had a puppy before knows that there are times when you just can’t get that little fur ball to do what they should. And anyone who loves dogs knows that training is a great way to build confidence in your dog and strengthen your relationship with your pet. They even have a great article all about the reasons why you should train your dog. Read the rest of this entry »

Pet Products: Collars by Cordelia Classics

Filed Under (reviews) by Aimee on 27-08-2007

Cordelia Classics has really cute dog (and cat) collars that can be personalized. You can even add your phone number to the collar. They come in a variety of styles and colors. You can choose which font you want, and the color of the writing as well. We picked a pink collar with green writing, and here is our furry model in her fun new collar.

Baby in collar

Just look at Baby in her Cordelia Classics collar! She was so funny, somehow she knew it was for her, and couldn’t wait to get it on. It looks so cute, and not only that but it is very sturdy and well made.

I give Cordelia Classics 5 out of 5 paws. Personalization, well made product, timely shipping, and a great variety of choices. They even have some very cute collars for breast cancer awareness (10% of proceeds are donated) and they even have collars for Halloween!
